Plein Air Crisfield May 22 – 26, 2019 Plein Air Crisfield will take place May 24-26. Artists participate in three days of painting in authentic, beautiful Crisfield and the surrounding areas. Smith Island Arts Festival May 25 – 11 am to 4 pm The annual Smith Island Arts Festival! Make an art day of it! Catch a boat from Crisfield and meet us back here for the evening for the 4th Saturday Bay Stroll.

J. Millard Tawes Crab & Clam Bake July 17 – Somers Cove Marina
The J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake is a Maryland must-attend, see-and-be-seen political institution, equal parts seafood and schmooze.
The annual celebration is named in honor of Crisfield native, J. Millard Tawes, the 54th Governor of the State of Maryland.

There is Excitement in the Air Here at the Museum

The atmosphere is really vibrating with excitement, as our Decoy Carving course is preparing for the kickoff on Sunday afternoon !
We have 9 attendees registered, and are so excited to Welcome each and every one from as close as Crisfield, to as far away as Anchorage, Alaska !
Very exciting week coming up, as our Master Carver, Rich Smoker has planned a carving project that, in 27 years – he has NEVER taught before. This group is eager to see what it is and get started.

Rich Smoker to Teach Decoy Carving Class in Crisfield at the Crisfield Heritage Museum in February 2019

The Crisfield Heritage Foundation is pleased to announce that they are hosting a week of instruction in Decoy Carving with Award-Winning Carver, Rich Smoker.
This class will be held at the Crisfield Heritage Foundation, the Tawes Museum in Crisfield, MD. FEBRUARY 3rd – 8th

Students arrive from all around this country, with dedicated carvers from as far away as Anchorage, Alaska, to beginners as close as Dorchester County, MD. ALL are welcome. 
Rich Smoker’s fun and interactive manner of teaching makes it possible for everyone to stay on task and take home their decoy, completed and ready to brag about.

What is Included:
Our program is all-inclusive. From expert carving hands-on instruction to lodging, all meals and gratuities — we handle all the details and costs incurred during our programs
What kind of accommodations are provided: 
Lodging at Somers Cove Motel overlooking Somerset County’s Largest Bird Sanctuary

All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom.
Free WiFi in all rooms.
The rooms have a seating area, air conditioning, and provide a desk and a coffee machine. 
A continental breakfast is served every morning at the property.
